Marco PantaloneTechnical Program Manager

Eternal tech head, used to think I was just better at googling stuff than the average joe, turns out I have a knack for this. Lovingly referred to as MarcoGPT by friends. Usual last line of defense when a project is about to be declared FUBAR.

Marco Pantalone – Technical Program Manager

About Me

I’m the solution to your problem. If you’re here, you’ve either read my CV… or taken a spectacular wrong turn. In the first case, I’m confident I can help. Yes, even if I have no idea who you are, my point still stands. Worst case? We have a great conversation. In the second case, don't worry. You are in good hands too.

Cross-functional Leadership

My core belief is that you don't just lead people; you lead the culture. Perhaps the greatest threat to any big project is our natural tendency toward tribalism, which fractures teams and kills talent. I've made one of my core skills the action of actively cultivating a culture of teamwork and mutual understanding that dismantles those silos

Technical Excellence

For me, technical excellence is a foundation of effective leadership. You cannot strategically manage the 'When, Where, and What-ifs' of a program until you have properly grasped the technical 'What, How, and Why.' I make it a point to dive as deep as possible into the technologies my teams use. It's impossible to unleash the full potential of a tool or a team, without understanding the craft

Innovation & AI Adoption

I believe we are at a pivotal moment in technological history. AI is simultaneously not the simple silver bullet many are being sold, yet it's far more powerful than they can imagine. For me, driving AI adoption isn't just about implementing new features; it's about the responsibility to ethically guide the transformation it will bring. This is the opportunity of a lifetime, and it's why I've moved beyond theory to make changes in the real world.

Measurable Impact

I don't rely on dreams alone. Any dream, no matter how preposterous, is somewhat achievable if you are willing to set tangible goals to make it a reality. We dreamed of going to space and landing on the Moon, but we only succeeded when we decided to roll up our sleeves and take concrete action, step by step, while carefully measuring them. That's how you make a difference

Professional Experience

This is not a section for KPMs and ROIs (ok, I migth use them a little as a TL;DR, but not the purpose). This is the human side of my professional experience, if you happen to want to know me better. After all, the most immeasurable impact of my carrer was the one it had on myself.

I’ve always had a genuine interest in ML, but I’d be lying if I said I saw the rise of LLMs coming. As my kids became more independent, I decided to dive in. Lacking formal AI program management experience, I spent five months studying the landscape before joining the team at Anyone AI. It was a paradoxically familiar feeling: a completely new context again. But I had a career's worth of experience connecting the dots between technology and people. I found new team dynamics and new types of projects, but by now I could draw from all my previous roles to tackle mentorship and challenges with a confident smile. I'll let the recent testimonials speak for themselves, as my focus was simply on doing what the team needed. Now, I'm ready for the next challenge.

PM Impact

  • Accelerated the ELT pipeline development lifecycle by 30% from end to end.
  • Enabled a strategic overhaul of a distribution network by delivering a new analytics system.
  • Increased engineer retention and cut onboarding time by 50% through direct mentorship.

Ministry of Human Capital, Argentina

July 2017 - January 2025Hybrid teams$500K+ secured

Parenthood and the need for more flexibility led me to 'scale back' (or so I thought) and take a fully remote position with the Ministry of Human Capital in my home country. By now, I was more seasoned, so the redefined stakes and challenges were less of a surprise. Managing long-term projects in an inherently unstable economy made budgeting and logistics a true exercise in ingenuity, requiring near-oracular levels of forecasting and risk management. Influencing principals and directors at over 20 institutions to join the initiative, all while holding no formal power, was demanding. But seeing the results of that change directly impact students was by far the most satisfying part of any program I've led. My other endeavors certainly changed lives, but here, instead of just proudly overachieving on KPIs, I got to see the human results first-hand and be thanked by the people we were helping.

PM Impact

  • Achieved 95% on-time, on-budget project delivery via a new governance framework.
  • Cut procurement costs by 15% and inventory spoilage by 25% by directing the supply chain.
  • Aligned cross-team dependencies for 15+ concurrent projects through quarterly planning.

After a stint managing tech and information architecture for a software company, an opportunity took me to what I thought was a 'small' lab at UCF. Boy, was I wrong. The data was immense, and the stakes were astronomical. That 20-person lab was part of a constellation of brilliant international collaborators. That more decentralized yet still global scope brought new challenges. While I had experience in procurement, moving sensitive equipment between borders and dealing with diverse government institutions was a whole new endeavor, not only in matters of a very particular kind of red tape, but in understanding an industry that wasn't always purely driven by profit. Observing and encouraging people in their academic growth was a surprisingly contrasting dynamic compared to helping colleagues in the private sector. Most importantly, it was my first time working hand-in-hand with people from wonderfully diverse cultures and backgrounds. While I'd collaborated remotely before, I never fully grasped the depth of that diversity until I was there, dealing with their worries, sharing their needs, and, in some cases, forming friendships I'll cherish for life.

PM Impact

  • Orchestrated global logistics for $5M+ in sensitive satellite components, ensuring zero delays.
  • Spearheaded infrastructure upgrades that doubled the lab's research capacity.
  • Delivered all project milestones on time and 5% under budget.

This was my first time in charge of a truly massive system—one that, I confess, I didn't fully understand at the time. The program's goal was to consolidate diverse global sites into a unified platform, something that had never been done at this scale in the field. When I arrived, and for some time after, everything felt constantly on the verge of going belly-up. It was also my first encounter with global procurement, and I saw how quickly silos formed between teams. I didn't have a name for it back then, but I instinctively worked to break them down, noticing that teams perform best when they understand each other's needs instead of 'othering' them. Something broke and I learned something new almost every day. It was so much fun.

PM Impact

  • Established 'fire-and-forget' reliability for on-time, on-budget hardware procurement.
  • Led ServiceNow migration, achieving 95% adoption and 25% faster ticket resolution.
  • Headed a unification program that cut deployment cycles by 50% and reduced defects.

"Oh, for crying out loud, you're still scrolling. Is this some kind of endurance test? You've read the proper testimonials from the sensible people. You don't need one from me. This is the bit at the end of the page where the code gets tired and gives up. Go on, shooo. No? Right then. The Pantalone fellow. He has a terrifying knack for managing the impossible. I once saw him get a room full of wizards to agree on a plan so efficiently, no one even threatened to set anyone else on fire. A historic first. His plans were so unnervingly good that for once, things around here actually exploded on schedule."
